What are your career goals?
My short-term goal is to get a well-paying supply chain & logistics position that excites and challenges me. My long-term goal is to own my own business or to be a CEO of a company.
How confident are you that your Higher Promise Internship will help you reach these goals?
I’m confident that my internship through Higher Promise will help me achieve these goals. The internship helped me get my foot in the door with Stryker and allowed me to learn about supply chain & logistics. When I first heard about Higher Promise, I thought it was a scam, but it turned out to be very valuable. Without it, I wouldn’t have been able to learn about supply chain & logistics.
What has been your favorite part of the internship?
My mentors at Stryker have given me many opportunities to try different things and take on all kinds of projects. My coworkers have been nice, uplifting, and have offered many opportunities for me to learn more about the company. I participated in intern mixers, leadership panels, and even got to meet the executive team.
Would you recommend Higher Promise to other Promise Scholars? If so, why?
I would recommend Higher Promise to other Promise Scholars. You get what you put into it. The workforce navigation classes are very useful and allows the opportunity to connect with peers who are pursuing internships in other fields. Internships also look really good on a resume. I also think the pay is good.
