Perla Ascencio

Scholarship Administrator

Perla Ascencio is the Scholarship Administrator at The Kalamazoo Promise. She is the primary person responsible for the day-to-day operation of The Kalamazoo Promise scholarship’s administrative functions. This includes all scholar and post-secondary institution processes and communication. 

Before coming to the Promise, Perla gained useful life and professional experience in diverse roles that range from server at a restaurant, to Collections Agent, Shift Lead, Accounts Payable Clerk, and even Community Engagement Manager at El Concilio Kalamazoo. She believes her experience in all walks of life have been vital to her development and led her to her current role.

Perla earned her bachelor's degree in Business Administration from WMU in June of 2022. She is excited about her future with the Promise and looks forward to collaborating with other organizations to better serve her community.
