Franki Hand

As the Reconnection Specialist, Franki Hand’s goal is to help every Kalamazoo Promise Scholar map a path to the future. Franki believes in Kalamazoo, and she believes that Kalamazoo Promise Scholars have the power to change their communities and the wider world. If you are a Promise Scholar who is ready to go back, ready to begin, or just exploring your options, Franki wants to hear your story and can’t wait to join you on your journey. 

Outside of work, Franki is a working musician and a graduate student in WMU’s school of Education, Learning, Research, and Technology, where she studies learning, leadership, and change. Before joining the team at The Kalamazoo Promise, Franki was a librarian at Kalamazoo Valley Community College, The University of Texas, and The University of Michigan. She is an insatiable reader and life-long learner, and she hopes to share her curious mindset with Promise Scholars in hope that they may learn, grow, and achieve great things wherever life may lead.
