In this episode, Dr. John & Donté Hudson sit down with Jamiese Edmonson, 2016 graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School and 2020 graduate of Western Michigan University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Development. Jamiese has since earned her Master of Arts in Youth and Community Development from Western Michigan University and started working with Youth Opportunities Unlimited (YOU) as a Career Coach. Jamiese talks with Dr. John about what led her to pursuing her academic and career pathway, gives advice to current Promise Scholars & Alumni, and discusses MyCITY 2023, a summer youth employment program for City of Kalamazoo residents age 14-21 that serves as the gateway to paid internship and work experience.
