Higher Promise Coordinator

As the Higher Promise Coordinator, Cetera recruits Promise Scholars and regional businesses to participate in Higher Promise with the hopes of creating a workforce pipeline.  The goal of Higher Promise is support opportunity, equity, and ensure that pathways to careers in Kalamazoo are accessible to all Promise Scholars, especially populations with unequal access to high wage careers.

A former Promise Scholar and proud Spartan, Cetera attended Michigan State University where she earned a bachelors degree in Communication (2011), and a Master Degree in Youth Development (2013). 

Cetera comes from a big family totaling 8 siblings (4 sisters, 4 brothers), daughter to Rita & Claxton.  She is the wife to David and mother to Janet Rose.  Some of Cetera’s interest outside of work are watching sports, hanging with family, and exploring new recipes to try out.

Cetera is proud to have grown up in the city of Kalamazoo and a proud staff member of the Kalamazoo Promise.  She enjoys collaborating with the community and helping promise scholars navigate their professional lives.
